How I turned this Little Tikes Cozy Coupe and Wagon into a photoshoot ready Pickup Truck!
Before
After
Last winter, I saw a ton of Little Tikes Cozy Coupes made over styled with a Christmas tree. The cutest photo op for littles ones, however with only one seat, you are limited to one child at a time.
I loved the car but thought how do I accommodate more kids? or pets? I needed it on a bigger scale. Then I had a great idea to make one into a vintage truck! I immediately searched the internet for everything kids vintage trucks, little tikes makeovers etc.
After a failed search for a product that didn't exist I knew I would have to make it myself. I hopped on facebook marketplace where I purchased a pink little tikes cozy coupe for $10 and a wagon for $20
What you need
- Little Tike Cozy Coupe (any version)
- Little Tikes Wagon (I was lucky to find one thats height matched the car)
- Spray Paint - 2 cans of Tremclad in Gloss Regal Red and one a can of Tremclad in Gloss Chestnut
- Bed frame caster (we had one in our garage, I just linked the cheapest one on google)
Step by step
- Take all pieces apart and clean them. Remove the handle from the wagon. Optional to remove wheels for paint prep
- Once dry use 220+grit sand paper and lightly sand all surfaces and any imperfections and wipe dust away
- We drilled holes into the back of the coupe & into the metal of the caster to be able to attach the caster as our hitch. I decided on having a removable hitch because I wanted to be able to transport in two pieces.
- Cut an opening in the bottom of the coupe for easy access to our fastening screws
- PAINT! I chose to paint the side rails of the wagon brown to emulate wood on a vintage truck (two coats of each)
- Assemble & Style!
